According to the wiki, they've scheduled interviews. Can anyone confirm this?

The IP listed with the edit is in Ann Arbor. Given their are several openings across the university, it might be nice to know which position the interview is for.

I posted on the wiki. I'm in the soc department, and this is for the open area Asst. Prof search (I have nothing to do with the search committee). The chair sent out an email today to the department announcing three job talks.

I did not receive said email, but am not one of the interviewees either. I guess this could either mean I made some kind of dead-end long-list or that they have not yet gotten around to terminating my candidacy . Ahhhh, the job market....

Another interesting wrinkle in this search: the department can make one offer and one offer only. That is, if the chosen candidate declines, that's it. No going further down the list.

that wrinkle is very interesting since i have heard from someone in the department that two of the three interviewees are the afore and elsewhere mentioned she-star and he-star.

I'm a grad student there. An offer went out to a female "star" with a famous name.

Michigan made two offers. She and he. Yes, she-star and he-star have offers from Michigan (Duke, and Stanford too, I believe). Any word on whose going to accept where and when?

Seems likely neither will accept and Michigan will go without a hire this year...

Stanford sent an e-mail stating that a person had accepted an offer. So if it's the same person, they can't really take both jobs.
Since it's related, why wouldn't they invite more folks? Out of search money, or just not interested?
