The Sociology Department at Dartmouth College (www.dartmouth.edu/~socy), in conjunction with the federally funded Institute for Security, Technology and Society (www.ists.dartmouth.edu) at Dartmouth, is seeking a post-doctoral research fellow to participate in an NSF-funded research project related to new information technologies (IT) in healthcare. Applicants should possess a Ph.D. in sociology, and have: experience and knowledge of both qualitative and quantitative research methods, demonstrated research experience in related areas of study (i.e., healthcare/medical sociology, information technologies, or both), and the willingness to participate in on-going collaborative, interdisciplinary research. The full-time position will be available starting as early as October 1, 2009, with a beginning salary of $50,000 (plus benefits) for 12 months. The initial appointment is for 24 months, and renewable for a third year (until August 2012). The in-residence position is for full-time research.
