Summary:The Sony HDR-SR12 is a solid, beefy charcoal-gray and black-bodied camcorder. Pick it up and you know it’s sturdy without the lighter-than-air feel of inexpensive Mini DV and DVD camcorders or even expensive flash-only models such as the Canon Vixia HF10 . It weighs 20.4 ounces without the battery, 23.4 with and measures 3.37 x 3 x 5.5 (WHD, in inches). By comparison the HF10 with 16GB of on-board capacity weighs around 15 ounces but it holds only two hours of Full HD video versus nearly 15 for the Sony. Even with the extra weight it fits nicely in the palm of your hand once you adjust the Velcro wrist strap.
Sony Hdr Sr12 HD AVCHD to MPEG 2 for Sony Vegas Pro 13
I took part in a micro film match held by our college which is to record a short movie of our summer life. The equipment I was given was SONY HDR-SR12 Camcorder which is able to put out AVCHD files at a frame rate of 60i. After long time shooting, I got Full HD 1920 x 1080 60i M2TS files.
As usual, I decided to edit it in Sony Vegas Pro 13 which I am familiar with. But when I was to put Full HD 60i M2TS to it, a trouble came to me: I find AVCHD is not compatible to Sony Vegas Pro 13. Soon, I realized I need to convert AVCHD to MEPG-2 first. Thus it can be put into Sony Vegas.
I tired many converters and they all fail to transcode HD AVCHD to MPEG-2. When I played back a converted MPEG-2, footage filmed with a tripod appears good quality but if the camera moves during the shooting, there exists flickers in images.
After long time inquiring, I was finally recommended an AVCHD converter-Aunsoft MTS/M2TS Converter which did me a great favor in deinterlacing Sony HDR SR12 HD Avchd to Mpeg 2 for Sony Vegas Pro 13.It focuses on handling the conversion of MTS and M2TS perfectly and making difficult problems during it solvable.
This software also converts MTS/M2TS to Adobe Premiere etc with Native Codec. It turns MTS/M2TS into the suitable format compatible to Adobe Premiere,Avid Media Composer lots of other editing software and players.
