Anyone heard anything from PLU other than the affirmative action form?

Got my AA letter on Sept 25, 2009. Not too long ago in "search committee"-time.

They did phone interviews a couple of weeks ago, but haven't heard anything since.

I didn't apply, but I would be cautious before believing anything on this board (like the last post, for example). Just saying - don't get your hopes crushed yet if you didn't hear anything - it seems there is enough misinformation on the boards to go around.

Received a rejection e-mail from PLU today:
The search committee for the Assistant Professor of Sociology position at Pacific Lutheran University has completed its initial review of applications.
We have selected candidates to pursue further for the position. I regret to inform you that you are not among those candidates. Our decisions were based upon which candidates would best fit the position and our institutional needs.
We thank you for your interest in Pacific Lutheran University.

Had people that received these rejection letters been previously contacted? I was not contacted at an earlier date (i.e. no phone interview like others report) but I also did not receive a rejection email.

PLU has made an offer and the candidate accepted.
