Hi everyone,
Are there many other international applicants out there? I'm a US citizen who's been living the sociologist's life abroad for a while and trying to get back into the US job market via Asst. Prof. positions and trying to not get too frustrated at the constant flow of rejection letters--my CV is great, plenty of pubs, but no bites from the US. I've heard from others that it might be because I'm applying from a foreign Sociology dept. Anyone else have any experience with this/thoughts? Thanks!

As you will find from reading the multiple threads in this board, people from all sorts of institutions are finding the job market frustrating and discouraging. So it would be hard to draw any conclusions from being foreign based.
Take a look at the thread about people on their second year on the job market, for example.
Besides, it is still early in the job hunting season.

Because you are outside America, you are against her. The Lord does not take well to you destroying America's economy as you so your seeds of liberal discord while trying to get the state to support you. You must get off of welfare, temper your views, pledge allegiance to America, and commit to a free market before you will be hired!
