They are bringing in at least 2 more candidates in the next 2 weeks.

with regard to anonymous' last post, I didn't think the candidate "bombed" the job talk. I thought it played to her strengths well and have talked to others who are excited about the candidate. I haven't heard meta-commentary about other job talks at schools by other candidates on the board at all. Why this one? In this market, we need to be supportive of each other. Perhaps, in this case, it's best to remember the age-old rule: if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all.

I agree about not cutting down specific people. Everyone has a long career ahead of them and it's too early to get on the bitter train.

Also keep in mind that when you have multiple interviews, some of the job talks will naturally go better than others. Some days click better than others. But at the end, it's the same candidate with the same accomplishments and potential. Keep it in perspective and don't be mean.

So on the wiki it says that Wisconsin made an offer, I guess that means they won't be calling all the people they asked extra material from... Can anybody confirm this to be true?

I heard that they were trying to get funding for two positions, so maybe don't give up yet. And more job talks are going on this week and next.
