Assistant, Associate or Full Professor - Sociology Department –Feminist Scholar/Sociology of Gender- NEW Tenure Track
Position Requirements
The Department of Sociology at Portland State University (www.sociology.pdx.edu) invites applications for an open rank (Assistant, Associate, Full Professor) faculty position to begin September 2010. (Ph.D. required.)
* The successful applicant will be a scholar of feminist sociological theory and research specializing in gender and sexualities. Preference will be given to scholars who can collaborate with other faculty members working in any of the following: health, education, immigration or social sustainability.
* The successful candidate will emphasize race/ethnicity and class, as well as gender in their research and teaching.
* For consideration at the Full Professor level, applicants must have a distinguished record of publications and funded research.
* The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate level courses, conduct an active research program, secure external funding for research, supervise graduate students, and participate in collaborative projects within the department.
* The successful candidate will play a significant part in shaping our newly established Ph.D. program and will contribute to the existing Bachelors and Masters level curricula.
Compensation
The starting annual salary for this position is dependent upon qualifications and experience with an excellent benefits package including fully paid healthcare, a generous retirement package, and reduced tuition rates for the employee, spouse or one dependent at any of the Oregon University System Schools.
