Candidates with an earned doctorate from an education or a public policy school will be considered if they have evidence of strong social science training. The Department is particularly interested in candidates who analyze policy issues facing urban districts and state systems. One of the responsibilities of this faculty will be to teach a core graduate-level course on “policy analysis and program evaluation for education” in Brown’s Urban Education Policy program. This course aims to make students critical consumers of policy relevant research that addresses causal questions and to equip them with tools to conduct their own research. Depending on his or her qualifications, the candidate may hold joint appointment with the Taubman Center for Public Policy Studies.
