Given that this is a "rumor mill" it seems appropriate to start a thread dedicated to rumors about schools that haven't announced but might be hiring. I'll start, I've heard rumors that the following schools might be hiring:
U. Wisconsin-Madison U. Minnesota U. Cincinnati

Really, where (UCinn)? I know they circulated an intial ad, but haven't seen the official announcement. Is the UCinn ad new? I have seen a job ad posted last year on a site or two. UCinn did circulate ads for 2010 to some top schools, but the last I heard it was pending budgetary approval.

Anybody know if Princeton or Yale are going to hire this year?
I have heard from one person that Princeton is going to. I've heard Yale might try to hire a few people in the medium term, but not necessarily this year...

This is the email version, though it does not seem to be official yet, as per the note at the end.
University of Cincinnati. The Department of Sociology invites applicants for two tenure-track positions to begin September 1, 2010, one at the assistant and one at the assistant or associate professor level. A PhD in Sociology by August 31, 2010 is required. We seek assistant professor candidates with potential for becoming leading scholars and generating externally raised research funding. Associate professor candidates should have achieved substantial scholarly reputations and demonstrated efforts at generating external funding. For all candidates, excellence in teaching is expected and highly valued. Preference will be given to scholars with interests that complement those of the department, including race/ethnicity, immigration, gender, work, family, health, and urban. We encourage applications from candidates with strong backgrounds in qualitative and/or quantitative methods. The University of Cincinnati (uc.edu) is a public research university with a diverse student body in the heart of Cincinnati, a beautiful river city that combines the amenities of a major metropolis with a small-town cost of living. Sociology is a PhD-granting department with a standard teaching load of two courses per term, though this is typically reduced for junior faculty. The department houses the endowed Kunz Center ( artsci.uc.edu/sociology/kunz/index.html), which supports faculty and graduate student research. Sociology is also one of ten departments affiliated with the Charles Phelps Taft Research Center (artsci.uc.edu/taft ), which disburses approximately $1.4 million per year in research and travel grants to faculty and students. [NOTE: A FULL VERSION OF THIS AD WILL BE POSTED WITH THE ASA JOB BANK AS SOON AS IT IS APPROVED]

UCinn interviewed a few people informally at ASA. There were 4 people interviewing people they have been contacted by (or they have identified) beforehand.

UCINN will not be hiring this year. our department did circulate a hiring ad and discuss positions with potential candidates in San Fransisco. Unfortunately, there is a university freeze on hiring. We will be hiring next year, so please keep us in mind if you will be on the market next year!

The post that the University of Cincinnati has a hiring freeze is not true! Last week our department head talked to the Dean, who still says we'll get at least one hire. I don't know who posted that there was a hiring freeze, but it's not someone who is in the department.
