Stanford has not yet settled on a short list of interview candidates.

The person above is lying. Stanford has not invited anyone out for an interview.

Cheer up, Anoniiiii. I bet you are a minority female. Just smile, give them a quart of your pancake syrup and they will hire you. You see, the rage these days is to hire someone with your background as a form of conspicuous consumption. It might be really bad at the state schools, but Stanford is so well off they just hire unable people to show how well off they are.

My goodness, fakereconomist.
You must not confuse me with that Mill, the person whose morality would suppress women from their natural right and primary abilities of having babies, cooking, and their general excellence in household production.
Then again, you are probably female, so I would recommend you not try logic. May I suggest getting married and having a baby?

I would agree there are a lot of Affirmative Action positions this year. Its a general social movement. The U.S., after all, did just elect the first black president, who had similar qualifications. Now, the left is entrenching their people into the civil service, like Bush did with the Department of Justice. Its just people who are against God and capitalism. Perhaps its the End Days, as so many prophesies now suggest.

Which position(s) did they schedule for? There are two, right?

Stanford scheduled interviews for the open position in sociology. Not yet for the other.

Does anyone know Stanford's plans for the race position? Are they waiting until the open search is concluded? Are they just delayed in getting the ball rolling on the race position?
Thanks!

The searches are independent. There's a long list for the race position.
